Backyard Patios Can Make Your Yard

If you are looking to extending your indoor living space into the outdoors there is no better way to accomplish this than to consider building some backyard patios. It can be one or more depending on how large the backyard is. If you are working with a small backyard then the backyard patios should be designed on a smaller scale and perhaps there will only be one of them. In this case consider the look in inches instead of lineal feet or yards. For larger yards you need to think in organized areas for the various uses so no one area overpowers another area. Plus you need to incorporate some beauty into the design.

Various Patio Designs

Backyard patios come in all sizes and shapes. You can design them to actually be an extension of your living room or kitchen by including concrete countertops and some form of outdoor cooking source which can go way beyond a backyard BBQ pit. It can incorporate comfortable seating and an area for storing cooking utensils. It can be round or oblong or kidney shaped and can have as many shapes as your imagination working with your landscape designer can encompass. For a smaller yard it may be a small flagstone patio surrounded by noise reducing foliage and two simple color coated metal chairs and matching small table.

A Small Yard Patio

If you have a small yard you simply cannot expect to incorporate a lot of backyard patios into that design. On the other hand you don’t want to make the space for the patio too small because then you will not use it at all. For example if you plan to set up a five foot diameter table and two or more chairs you will require a ten by ten foot patio. So you have to plan accordingly. A small patio is eminently doable it just requires some careful planning to get it right.

A Large Yard Patio

If you are lucky and have a large backyard then incorporating several backyard patios is a matter of good design so they don’t look jumbled and sloppy or misplaced. Any backyard renovation requires a good plan so that all areas are considered and the flow from area to area is pleasant and workable. A large patio can incorporate mature plantings and concrete work too. Backyard patios will enhance your lifestyle and give you more living space if planned properly.
